The IRDL organises scientific research activities for engineering in Brittany, particularly in the fields of marine renewable energy and naval construction. Through its numerous collaborations with industrial partners associated with the maritime sector, the IRDL acts as a link between fundamental research, engineering and technology. The IRDL is formed by five themed research departments (PTR): 1/ Composites, nanocomposites & biocomposites 2/Multi-material assemblies 3/Structures and interactions 4/Energy systems 5/Durability of heterogeneous materials
Website ENSTA BRETAGNE
ENSTA Bretagne, Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées Bretagne (formerly ENSIETA), is a French national postgraduate engineering research institute. This multi-disciplinary engineering school operates under the auspices of the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA). In conjunction with ENSTA ParisTech, it forms a group of institutes of advanced technology, recognised for outstanding performance in their fields of expertise: energy, transport, marine engineering and major industrial systems. It caters for 650 students trained in a ?systems approach': in an international context, they have the capacity to design and create complex industrial systems combining mechanics, electronics and IT in all sectors of industry ? shipbuilding, aeronautics, automotive, telecommunications, defence, etc.). The success of ENSTA Bretagne continues to grow year on year, and its graduates are snapped up by the sectors in which their skills are a perfect fit. Located in Brest, the European capital of marine science and technology, ENSTA Bretagne notably offers in-depth study of naval architecture and offshore engineering as well as unique training courses in France for hydrography engineers and specialists in marine renewable energies.
