Located in Quimper and Brest and founded by four Finistère-based SMEs, this engineering and project management company in the field of marine energies, and more specifically tidal turbines, has set a pioneering reference by immersing, in 2008, sabella D03 , the first French submarine tidal turbine. This first experimental prototype of a 3 meter diameter tidal turbine has been successfully tested in Bénodet for one year. After this promising experiment, Sabella wished to establish its industrial credibility by producing a scale 1 demonstrator: sabella D10 (500 kW of power), intended to be immersed in the passage of the Fromveur, between Molène and Ouessant. This project was selected by ADEME for public support of Future Investments (? 3.6M). This turbine was the first in 2015, and remains the only one to date, to have injected electricity of marine origin on the French electricity grid. After recovery in 2016 and improvements works, it is laid again on the site in 10/2018 for a campaign of continuous exploitation of 3 years connected to Ouessant
