It is equipped with patient simulation dummies, as well as high-tech equipment, and staffed by education professionals; the Centre reconstructs healthcare scenarios to facilitate hands-on learning.
CESIM is also a centre for research into medical pedagogy and communications, as well as the evaluation and development of technology.
It was founded as a result of close collaboration between the regional university teaching hospital (CHRU) and the University of Western Brittany (UBO).
